Community Involvement
Lubbock Electric is committed to giving back to our community every year. It’s part of who we are.
Here are a few of the great organizations in West Texas that we proudly sponsor.
Lubbock Electric Co. is a proud supporter of the FiberMax Center For Discovery (previously called the Bayer Museum of Agriculture). The FiberMax Center is a first-class museum that teaches our community about the history of agriculture and its continuing importance in our everyday lives. Lubbock Electric supports the mission and growth of the FCD by making annual financial donations, and our General Manager serves on the Board of Directors. Lubbock Electric has also made significant contributions to the center's exhibits. In 2014, Lubbock Electric refurbished, transported, and installed the 1958 Ag-Cat Spray Plane that is featured in the rafters of the Central Exhibit Hall. More recently, Lubbock Electric employees volunteered to polish brass pieces from the 1925 Underwood Pullman Train Car to help restore it to its 1950 condition. In 2019, Lubbock Electric replaced the center's exterior light fixtures with energy-efficient LED lights, donating both the equipment and labor.
With the community's support, the center continues to evolve. We invite you join Lubbock Electric in supporting the FiberMax Center For Discovery to preserve our history and educate all people about the importance of agriculture.

Lubbock Electric Co. has supported the South Plains Food Bank for years. In 2018, we increased our annual giving to become a Cornerstone Partner. In addition to financial support, Lubbock Electric organizes at least one corporate volunteer day at the food bank each year. We donate electrical equipment and labor from time to time when such a need arises. Employees also serve as "Table Captains" at the annual Harvest of Hope fundraising luncheon to recruit guests and new donors for the food bank. Of course, one of our favorite ways to give to the food bank is through the annual U Can Share Drive. Each year, our team plans exciting fundraisers throughout the week to get employees to contribute food and cash donations. Employees look forward to these events every year, and everyone enjoys participating directly in Lubbock Electric's support of the food bank.
Food insecurity continues to affect many families across the South Plains, and the food bank is our community's best resource for fighting this issue. We invite you join Lubbock Electric in supporting the South Plains Food Bank.

High Point Village is a local non-profit organization that provides a community and enrichment facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These individuals, called "Villagers" at High Point Village, may not otherwise have opportunities for learning, growth, and community once they become adults. High Point Village addresses this need by providing art, music, nutrition and cooking, money management, and fitness classes, as well as social outings. High Point Village also involves the Villagers in community service and volunteer work. Lubbock Electric supports High Point Village through yearly giving and sponsorship and participation in their fundraisers, like the Recognizing AbiliTEEs Golf Tournament and annual Galas. Occasionally, Lubbock Electric has also donated electrical equipment and labor to help High Point Village expand their facilities.
High Point Village is a growing organization, and there are still many potential Villagers that need a place to belong and acheive their full potential. We invite you join Lubbock Electric in supporting High Point Village.
The Lubbock Dream Center exists to serve disadvantaged people in the Slaton-Bean neighborhood area of Lubbock. The Dream Center offers programs that help improve the health status, quality of life, education level, economic situation, and personal and spiritual growth of the people they serve. Because Lubbock Electric operates in this area, we share in the responsibility of serving the community. Every year, we organize an employee volunteer day at the Dream Center by participating in their Saturday Hospitality program. Every Saturday, a volunteer group buys, prepares, and serves a hot breakfast for approximately 250 people at the Dream Center. In addition to receiving a free hot meal, these neighbors come to receive food pantry boxes and a free health check. After their meal, a worship service is held for anyone who freely wishes to attend.
The Dream Center also offers kids programs, ESL classes, GED classes, a transition home for women exiting the penitentiary system, and so much more. There are so many ways to serve with the Dream Center, and we invite you join Lubbock Electric in supporting them.
Lubbock Chamber of Commerce
Lubbock Electric is a proud member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce connects local businesses to each other and to valuable resources, promotes business growth through education, and advocates on behalf of Lubbock businesses to governing authorities. In addition to our membership, Lubbock Electric supports the Chamber by participating in community events, like the Hub City BBQ Cook-off, golf tournaments, and Business Expo. We participate in their advocacy as well. General Manager Steve Moffett serves on the Chamber's Agriculture Committee, and we sponsor their Salute to Ag Luncheon and Harvest Luncheon every year. The Chamber also recognizes and celebrates local business achievements. The Chamber joined Lubbock Electric Co. in celebrating its 70th and 75th anniversaries with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. The Chamber truly honors their members and seeks their highest good.
By supporting the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, we promote business and jobs growth here in Lubbock. We invite you to join Lubbock Electric Co. in supporting local commerce.
